What is Urolift?

The urolift treatment is performed on an outpatient basis and utilizes tiny metallic implants which hold open the prostatic urethra which is obstructing or blocking urine flow. The device is placed through the obstructed urethra to access the large prostate and may provide a fast and reliable symptom relief by opening the obstructed urethra.

This treatment has a better risk profile than typical surgical procedures (TURP) that may have serious complications in a long painful recovery. It is most appropriately performed in prostate glands that are less than 80 g and those without an enlarged median lobe.
